Multi-Model Dangerous Goods Classification Refresher Training Day 1
DATES:
September 15 & September 17
12pm-4pm EDT
This course is intended to fulfill the recurrent training requirements for individuals classifying products and assigning shipping descriptions for products under the transport regulations of US DOT, IMDG, IATA and Canadian TDG. Individuals taking this refresher must certify that they have successfully completed an initial training course on this topic. The class will be fast-paced and present the criteria for each hazard class (other than classes 1 and 7) briefly but mainly work through examples to refresh classification skills. Additional time and examples will refresh and improve selection of proper shipping names.
Classification exemptions will also be covered. A test will be administered at the end of the course and students who pass the test will be awarded a certificate that documents the successful completion of the course. This is an intermediate course. The course objective is to meet the regulatory requirements of US DOT, IATA and IMDG for refresher training as a hazmat employee. The US DOT requires refresher training at least every 3 years while IATA requires retraining every 24 months.
Intended Audience
Hazard communication professionals who have completed initial training in the past and need refresher training to demonstrate their skills in completing Section 14 of the SDS and/or developing compliant shipping descriptions for their products.
