David Konkel

 

David Konkel:  David, a regulatory specialist and an AIHA SDS Registered Preparer, has been with IHSC since 2010.  A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, he holds a BS in Earth Science.  He also possesses a Certificate in Industrial Hygiene from the University of New Haven.  Experience includes quality management, regulatory compliance, pharmaceutical compounding, and soil testing.  US Army veteran.

Ms.Chandra Gioiello

 

Chandra Deeds Gioiello has a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from Franklin and Marshall College and a Master’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene from University of New Haven.  She is vice president of IHSC, LLC, a small consulting firm that focuses on international regulatory compliance and SDS and label authoring.  Chandra is a registered Safety Data Sheet and Label Author and a Certified Industrial Hygienist.  Her focus in on international chemical regulations including GHS adoption, labeling, and chemical control laws.  She regularly helps clients navigate the regulations across the globe, especially the Asia-Pacific countries.  She is active with the the American Industrial Hygiene Association and helped create the SDS and Label Author registry for AIHA. She served on the Board of Directors of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) from 2016-2019.  She is the 2024 recipient of the AIHA Fellows SIG Outstanding Midcareer Professional Award. She is currently a delegate to the GHS Subcommittee of Experts on behalf of the Dangerous Goods Advisory Council.

Ms.Denese Deeds

 

Denese Deeds is co-founder of IHSC, LLC (Industrial Health & Safety Consultants) where she is President and the Director of Chemical Regulatory Services. In that function she prepares SDS, labels and other hazard communication documents, provides training on hazard communication and dangerous goods classification and assists companies with overall chemical regulatory compliance. She has over 50 years in the field and is a recognized expert. Prior to founding IHSC she worked as an industrial hygienist for General Electric and Westinghouse.

Ms. Deeds has a degree in chemistry from Stetson University, DeLand, Florida. She has lectured at the junior college level and has taught short courses on safety, industrial hygiene, hazard communication including US and international SDS and chemical labeling and the transportation of hazardous materials/dangerous goods. Ms. Deeds is certified in the Comprehensive Practice of Industrial Hygiene by the Board for Global Credentialing (BGC), a Fellow of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) and a Registered SDS and Label Author.

Ms. Deeds serves on the Stewardship and Sustainability Committee of AIHA. She is a Past-President of the Society for Chemical Hazard Communication (SCHC) and is chair of the Nominating Committee for SCHC. She was awarded the Alice Hamilton Award by AIHA in 2014 and the Lifetime Achievement Award by SCHC in 2016. She currently serves as a delegate to the GHS Subcommittee of Experts on the GHS for DGAC.
